A negative social impact of volcanic activity
The lava flows have engulfed a house near to the summit of Mount Etna. The occupants have lost their home (negative social impact) as a result of this primary volcanic hazard. Fortunately, due to the relatively slower moving lava flows, people were able to move away from the threat and consequently there was no loss of life.
