Student District
The CBD of Birmingham is home to 3 Universities, and several colleges. Aston University, University College Birmingham (ex Birmingham College of Food and Tourism) and Birmingham City University (ex UCE) all have campuses in the central area, and Matthew Boulton College has moved to a new building in the Eastside Redevlopment Area. There is a need for large amounts of student accommodation, and many new halls of residence are being constructed in this zone to the west of the CBD. In total Birmingham is host to 50000 students.
