Equipment Used in the Data Collection of Woodland Data

 The photographs show some of the equipment used during a woodland investigation.

Amazingly, these photos were taken in a coniferous forest, in the daytime in July - it was pouring with rain!

A Soil Temperature Probe sampling at systematical sampled transect Site 2 (at 2 metres).

A Whirling Hygrometer used to measure % relative humidity (how much moisture is in the air).

A Data Logger to measure relative humidity digitally - can be used to cross-check the Whirling Hygrometer recordings.

A Light Meter measures light intensity in LUX - placed on the forest floor assesses the sunlight passing through the canopy layer to the layers below.
